San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools is registered with the State of California to sponsor pre-apprenticeships for high schools in the Inland Empire.
Pre-apprenticeship programs are designed to prepare individuals to enter and succeed in a Registered Apprenticeship or other high-quality apprenticeship programs, and ultimately a career. For high schools, the programs can and should integrate directly into the existing CTE curriculum and structure. High-quality pre-apprenticeship programs link directly to existing apprenticeship programs and provide the instruction, preparation, and supports to advance participants to apprenticeship programs or careers.
IEConnect is the pre-apprenticeship sponsor that serves as a singular system for registered pre-apprenticeships in high schools across the Inland Empire. It aims to expand access to pre-apprenticeships for all students within the Inland Empire while streamlining and standardizing the processes for business and community college partners to participate seamlessly across the region. The overarching goal is to develop successful, sustainable and high-quality K12 pre-apprenticeships across the Inland Empire by leveraging existing structures and coordinating efforts using a central intermediary – IEConnect.
