Essential Career Skills

Our curriculum includes very important skills or competencies that current research has identified as being foundational in school, in the workplace, and in life. These skills, often referred to as soft skills, are skills and personal attributes business and industry leaders have identified as essential in the workplace. Units of instruction called Essential Career Skills with identified outcomes have been designed as learning goals for all students participating in any SBCSS ROP course. The essential skills areas are:
  1. Effective Communication
  2. Collaboration, Creativity, and Critical Thinking
  3. Leaders and Teams: Roles and Responsibilities
  4. Legal, Ethical, and Environmental Considerations
  5. Personal Growth and Career Planning
  6. Workforce Safety and Personal Wellness
